Once the Swifteq MCP Server is connected, you use it by asking your AI assistant questions in plain language. Your AI assistant decides which MCP Server tools to use, so you rarely need to name them.
If you have not connected your AI assistant yet, refer to Connecting Claude to the MCP Server or Connecting ChatGPT to the MCP Server.

Asking your First Question
- Start a new chat in your AI assistant.
- Make sure the MCP Server connector is switched on for the chat. In Claude, click + and check Connectors. In ChatGPT, click +, then More and select the app.
- Ask a question, for example:
- How many tickets were created in the last 7 days, and what were the main contact reasons?
- Summarize ticket 12345 and suggest a reply.
- Which Help Center articles mention refunds?
For more ideas, refer to Example Prompts and Workflows for the MCP Server. For the full list of tools, refer to MCP Server Tools and Limits.
Approving Tool Calls
By default, most AI assistants ask for your approval before using a tool. This is your AI assistant's setting, not the MCP Server's. Once you trust a workflow, you can allow tools to run without asking, which makes longer analyses much smoother. In Claude, you set this per tool in the connector's settings.
Getting Better Results
- Be specific. Say which date range, fields and sort order you want. In ChatGPT especially, name the connector and the action, and ask it not to use web search.
- Count before you search. If you only need a number, ask for a count. It is much faster than retrieving tickets.
- Ask only for the fields you need. Retrieving full descriptions and custom fields for many tickets uses up your AI assistant's context quickly.
- Keep the window reasonable. Around four weeks of tickets is a practical limit for a single analysis. For larger volumes, refer to Analyzing Thousands of Tickets with the MCP Server.
- Start read only. Check what your AI assistant produces before allowing it to make changes, and allow public replies only when you are confident. Refer to Write Permissions for the MCP Server.
Checking your Usage
Ask your AI assistant "What's my Swifteq MCP usage?". It reports the calls made this month, your free allowance, the calls remaining and when the allowance resets. Checking your usage does not count against your allowance.
Refer to MCP Server Pricing and Free Allowance.
When to Start a New Chat
Your AI assistant loads the list of MCP Server tools when a chat starts or when the connector connects. Start a new chat, or disconnect and reconnect the connector, when:
- You have just connected or reauthorized your Zendesk login.
- We have released a new tool or a fix and your AI assistant does not seem to have it.
